CARING FOR YOUR TAN
Before & after care info
Pre Care
A little prep work goes a long way in ensuring you achieve your very best tan! Prepping also helps extend the life of your tan. You will want to begin your preparation protocol 48 hours before your tan.
48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR TAN
Take care of your mani/pedi, facial, waxing, & hair appts.
Blow Drys are only recommended either prior to spraying or after your first rinse.
24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR TAN
If you’re going to shave (recommended) do it the day before. this allows the pores to close & avoid a spotty look.
Exfoliate! Exfoliate! Exfoliate! This step is crucial use an oil free body scrub.
THE DAY OF YOUR TAN
Take a basic shower the morning of your spray tan & rinse well.
Do not apply lotions, oils, perfumes, or deodorant remove all jewelry.
Wear dark, loose fitted clothing & open toe flip flops if possible.
SHOWERING
It is critical that you follow your recommended rinse tim to avoid over or under developing your tan. Your initial rinse should be with luke-warm water only (no soap). Your tan will continue developing over the next 24 hours. After the 24 hour mark, you may shower with soap. It is recommended to avoid shaving until day 3 as shaving is a form of exfoliation. Pat dry.
HYDRATING
Drink plenty of water throughout the duration of your tan to keep your skin hydrated. Healthy, hydrated skin will retain the results of your tan longer.
MOISTURIZING
After 24 hours have passed since your appointment & you have taken a soap shower, moisturizing both morning & night with creams or lotions is highly recommended. CeraVe is a great option. Avoid using oils as this will cause your tan to slough off much quicker.
MAINTENANCE
The life of your tan will depend on the frequency of your workouts, showers, & your skins exposure to chlorine & salt water. If you go swimming, apply a thick layer of sunscreen which will act as a barrier between your spray tan & the water. It is recommended to let your skin rest for 10 days after every 5 weeks of spray-tanning, Results vary by individual.
